Nick Smith - "Ourselves Unseen 2017"

"As I've always said with my work... close up reading is a must!" - Nick Smith

This is partly because it's a sunny, warm Friday and I wanted to show some boobs, but mostly because I'm a fan of Nick Smith and the Paramour series is what introduced me to his work.

Available now from Art Republic, "Ourselves Unseen 2017" is from a limited edition of 99 and is signed and numbered by the artist.

"The text sewn through the print comes from the book Fanny Hill, Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure by John Cleland published in 1748 and is considered the first original English prose pornography.

The book became very popular but was immediately banned by the authorities until 1963, resulting in 215 years of under the counter illegal sales. This print is the final paper print to be released from my Paramour series."

Whilst I'm not in a position to showcase naked breasts on my walls at home (and I'm still paying for Kayne), these would make a great addition to Nick Smith fans and contemporary art lovers alike.
